The perspective, as you must know Col., is not exclusive to the combat veteran; the horrors of war might leave one with an idea the rest of the world cannot fully comprehend, when in fact we can.

Killing is the violation of the sacred spark of life and a journey into the deepest psychic depths, contrary to being human; yet even the hunter/farmer must murder to survive. It is a thing we do, and a thing we should guard women and children from. Giving life is our toll for taking it.

Discarding these things as being sacred acts is a wound we can heal by welcoming back to the human race.

Forgive me, Col., it's my duty to respond when a chord is struck.
